I first visited Bansko a few years ago and fell in love with the place straight away. At the time it was hard to decide what I liked most about the place, however looking back, I think there are five reasons why I feel in love with it.

1) The natural scenery is stunning, with the ski resort set in Pirin National Park, which is listed in the World Register of Natural Heritage.

2) The town is still old, with winding cobbled paths, and 19th century houses.

3) Traditional food can be eaten, and entertainment seen. However Bansko also has many excellent restaurants that serve more traditional westernised food (some with a Bansko twist).

4) Excellent Skiing in the winter, with some of the best snow and ski lifts in Europe (verify), all at prices that are much cheaper then France or Austria

5) During the summer you can partake in activities such as mountain biking in the mountains, or horse riding. For the more relaxing days, there is always the outdoor pools where you can enjoy the marvellous weather (can get up to 40 degrees centigrade) and refreshing mountain air.

Bansko contained everything that I wanted from a holiday and I decided that I was going to purchase a holiday apartment out there so that my Friends and family could share the love of the region with me.
